About my Giclée Prints

Fine Art Giclée Printing is a process that uses pigment based inks and archival quality, acid free papers to create prints that are of gallery quality and are very long lasting.

I produce my own Giclee prints. Each original painting is scanned at very high resolution and the digital image is colour matched with the original. I then go through a process of test printing onto 308gsm Hahnemühle FineArt 100% cotton rag paper and checking the colours against the original, with several rounds of fine-tuning until I am happy that the prints are a true like-for-like copy of my original. Once the colour matching is complete, the digital master is used to produce a small print run on my Canon ImagePROGRAF Pro-300 Giclee Printer using 10 colour pigment inks onto the 308gsm Hahnemühle FineArt 100% cotton rag paper. The results are highly detailed prints with deep and vivid colours that are very accurate copies of the original artwork. Each limited edition print is numbered and signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Unmounted prints are posted by recorded delivery in either a strong protective box or a firm card tube.

Mounted prints use acid-free, conservation grade white mountboard. The print is hinged to the mountboard using Hayaku Japanese hinging paper which combines the long, strong fibres of Japanese Mulberry paper with an acid free, water activated adhesive that can easily be reversed using just water. It is a conservation grade method that protects the print.

Framed prints can be supplied in white, FSC approved, solid wooden frames that are ready to hang. A choice of standard glass or UV blocking, anti-reflective AR70 ArtGlass glass is available. The framing is done in-house to ensure that the same level of attention to detail is paid to my art work, my prints and their frames. Please contact me for details.
